It matters not, what types of yoga you practice. It DOES matters how WELL you practice those particular types of yoga. Remember, there is no need for judgment or competition in yoga. We already have enough of that in our everyday lives.
Why do we say it doesn't matter what yoga styles you practice? Because, it's the results of the practice itself that determine weather or not any given type is suited for a particular individual.
Yes, the scope of yoga is vast. The teachings show one how to develop the body, mind and soul. Each of us have different temperaments and needs.
Some more material, others more spiritual. Neither is right or wrong, nor better or worse.
This is why yoga is so amazing, because it allows you to grow from the point you are at right now. It doesn't ask you to change who you are in order to practice and experience results.
You only need to have a general idea of what you would like to see improve, and a WILLINGNESS to make it happen.
Most individual start with the physical aspect of yoga; the yoga poses. As their understanding of their own yoga practice grows, so to does their ability to delve deeper into the other types of yoga.

As mentioned on our History of Yoga page, yoga has been around for millenniums. It wasn't until the recent 19th Century that the physical aspects of yoga, most commonly know as Hatha Yoga really became well know and practiced her in the West.
To this day, especially in India, you can still find yogis and yoginis practicing the subtle, more refined paths of yoga.

Like most people, you've probably notice a word that we use a lot these days - KARMA. The word Karma simply means Action.

This may be a cheesy old saying, but it's true. For most of us, we associate this analogy with religion or spirituality.
That does not need to be the case. It can be associated with business and success; or health and happiness. It's all a matter of how you look at it.
What is your proverbial mountain? How will you choose to climb it? This author has found that Meditation has helped, not only carve out a path, but to travel that path with courage, wisdom; happiness and joy!
